FITNESS TIPS | #fitnessfriday

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself over the years… it’s that I need to move. Every. Day. And I don’t mean walking from the couch to the refrigerator (yes, I know you were hoping maybe that’d be enough too). I mean actually move. Go for a run, take a really long walk or hike (my personal favorite), join a group fitness class, do at-home strength training, or pull out that old bikini-bum DVD I bought the summer I was for sure going to use every day… (we’ve all been there).

But really y’all, we just do too. much. sitting. We sit in our cars, we sit on planes, we sit at our desks, we sit when we eat, we sit in front of the TV at night exhausted from our day of sitting at work. That’s a lot of sitting…

In an ideal world, we’d all be able to find the time in our busy day to spend two hours at the gym busting our asses. In the real world, life often finds a way of making other plans. It can be hard to put in the hours at the gym when we have jobs, families, social lives… But there is always time to squeeze some exercise into our day. Trust me, your body will thank you. I try to get as much exercise as I can, but I could always be better. I miss days too… I skip working out, I get “too tired”, I find an excuse. All I know is, the days I choose to push through it and get a work-out in are my best days.

In this section, I’ll share my fitness struggles, successes and secrets.
